Sports writing is my speciality.
As a freelance sports journalist since 1991, I have written for many national newspapers, including the Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Telegraph, the Guardian, the Sunday Times, the Independent and the Independent on Sunday.
The Independent and Telegraph titles are my main client. I write for them several times a week, on football, cricket and more besides. They trust me to deliver excellent writing that is well researched, sticks to the brief and arrives on time.
Take a look at my Examples page to read some of my latest features and reports.
In my former life as a staff journalist in the provinces, I wrote – among other things – about horse racing in Doncaster, football in Sheffield and cricket in Leicester.
But there is more to being a sports journalist than interviewing the personalities and reporting on matches.
